A review of the weekend in Aberaeron.
This bank holiday weekend several teams desended on Aberaeron to compete in the Aberaeron Junior Tournament and Festival.
First up on Saturday were the U10s. After a promising start, the sky blues finished the group stage with 3 wins, 2 losses and a draw. Unfortunately that was not enough to the see them make it through to the quarter final stage as they missed out by just a few points.
Sunday was the turn of the U12s and U16s.
The U12s enetered 2 teams and after several very good performances both teams were unlucky not to process in the tournament.
U16s were the pick of the day though winning 4 games and losing 2 in the group stage which saw them make the semi final. Unfortunately they were not able to progress any further after narrowly losing out to the eventual winners, Rhayader.
Monday was festival time for the Sky Blue U6s and U8s.
2 teams were entered into the U8s festival which consisted of a mix of U7s and U8s. Both sets of players did everyone proud with only a couple of defeats between them.
The U6s finished the day unbeaten and were a joy to watch, celebrating every goal like it was a world cup winner.
All in all a very successfull weekend for the Sky Blues. All players and parents once again did the club proud, on and off the pitch, and another great experience for the players, playing against teams from Mid and Soth Wales.
Well done everyone involved. Pictures of the weekend can be found on our Facebook page
